I have to post this time lapse video which a friend just posted on facebook... This is not Charlie but, it is a Charlie. It does illustrate how busy we will be, how much baby proofing we have yet to do and, how much fun we are going to have... I can't wait!!!

Cutie Pie

This is a pic that Dennis took yesterday and, apparently, photo-shopped today while I was working. I love it so I thought I would post it and let you love it too.

Charlie is doing very well. I just looked up some 'developmental milestones' on line and I have decided that my boy is way ahead of schedule... of course, I'm a bit biased. He is now officially in 6 month clothing (the second big basket of clothes just made it's way over to little Nicholas Campbell - Chris' five week old son). I reorganized Charlie's closet and I'm a bit worried.. all his 9 month stuff is for summer. I think he might outgrow it before the weather really warms up. Oh well. I foresee more trips to ARC and Goodwill in my future.

Must sign off and go change a diaper... Prince Charles calls...

Just a quick picture of Charlie on inaguration day.

We watched the inaguration at our friends Carolyn and Joseph's house this morning. Took Charlie along for the historical event and he just couldn't be bothered much. When we got home the whole experience seems to of caught up with him. As you can see he did wear his Obama Progress onesie!

One tough Week

Here is Charlie after his hardest week yet... obviously not fazed by the trauma. Charlie started coughing a week and a half ago (Friday night) and by Monday we had him at the doctors office. Dr. Jenny diagnosed him as having brociolitis. She told us to keep an eye on his breathing which we did and, as a result, we rushed to the hospital at 3:30 Tuesday morning. To our surprise they admitted him and the Vander Houwens spent the next two nights at the Children's Hospital satellite at St. Joe's. We came home on Thursday with oxygen which we finally got to stop using this Monday when Charlie saw Dr. Jenny again and she tested his oxygen levels while eating and sleeping. He passed his test. Although this was all very stressful Charlie did well. Infants with RSV (which is the virus he had) usually wind in the hospital for 2 to 7 days... he was there for two. He is a strong little guy... well not so little... his weighed in at 14lb 11oz on Monday.

Below are a few pics from the hospital as well as of his new trick... rolling from his belly to his back. He hasn't rolled from his back to his belly yet - I don't think he has much motivation to try - he likes being on his back.

This last picture is of Charlie's magic toe (the pulse ox)

Now for my latest trick...
