How beautiful it was up in the mountains at the cabin over the holiday. The river was just gorgeous as you can see from this shot taken from the porch of the Goodman Cabin. We spent our holiday there and really had a nice quiet and calm break from home.
Michelle and I had a rough start getting up to the cabin. Not due to weather but due to "Murphy".
We had so much to do in getting gifts ready, packing for ourselves and Charlie, last minute erands and more. This was just completely shaken up when I discovered that Michelle had run over a nail at her last job site and the front driver's side tire was flat. Of course I didn't notice this until after I had loaded everything into the car. We finally did get everything transfer to our other car and made it up to the cabin. The door was snowed in but not impossible to bypass and get a shovel out to clear a path. Grandma Pat and Grandpa Steve showed up shortly after we did. It really was nice to be away from Denver for a few days.
Charlie takes it easy in his Moses basket. You can see the snow outside.
Grandma Pat brought up Chalie's Kicking time fun mat thingy! He loves it. His little legs are very active and he is "talking with coos and woos".
I noticed that in this little outfit of his with his bib he looks a little like santa.
Here is a fun picture of Charlie and Michelle hanging out having something to eat.
Grandpa and Charlie have some time hanging out too.
Unfortunately due to weather and road conditions Michelle's sister, Karen, couldn't make it over to the cabin from Steamboat Springs on Chirstmas morning. We really missed her. But I think we will see her in a few days here in Denver.
Well, I have to make this the end of this post here. Dinner needs to be put to the fire. We did get back today after a fairly nice visit. Such a nice escape. Michelle seems to be suffering from a slight sinus infection. We're doing all we can to keep Charlie from catching it.
Oh and the tire was repaired this afternoon too. Can't wait to get back up to the cabin again soon!
