A winter wonderland in the mountains

How beautiful it was up in the mountains at the cabin over the holiday. The river was just gorgeous as you can see from this shot taken from the porch of the Goodman Cabin. We spent our holiday there and really had a nice quiet and calm break from home.
Michelle and I had a rough start getting up to the cabin. Not due to weather but due to "Murphy".
We had so much to do in getting gifts ready, packing for ourselves and Charlie, last minute erands and more. This was just completely shaken up when I discovered that Michelle had run over a nail at her last job site and the front driver's side tire was flat. Of course I didn't notice this until after I had loaded everything into the car. We finally did get everything transfer to our other car and made it up to the cabin. The door was snowed in but not impossible to bypass and get a shovel out to clear a path. Grandma Pat and Grandpa Steve showed up shortly after we did. It really was nice to be away from Denver for a few days.

Charlie takes it easy in his Moses basket. You can see the snow outside.

Grandma Pat brought up Chalie's Kicking time fun mat thingy! He loves it. His little legs are very active and he is "talking with coos and woos".

I noticed that in this little outfit of his with his bib he looks a little like santa.
See him here just kick-in it by the fire!

Here is a fun picture of Charlie and Michelle hanging out having something to eat.

Grandpa and Charlie have some time hanging out too.

Unfortunately due to weather and road conditions Michelle's sister, Karen, couldn't make it over to the cabin from Steamboat Springs on Chirstmas morning. We really missed her. But I think we will see her in a few days here in Denver.
Well, I have to make this the end of this post here. Dinner needs to be put to the fire. We did get back today after a fairly nice visit. Such a nice escape. Michelle seems to be suffering from a slight sinus infection. We're doing all we can to keep Charlie from catching it.
Oh and the tire was repaired this afternoon too. Can't wait to get back up to the cabin again soon!

Tooo FReaKKING CUTE!

Charlie was in rare form today. He has been just as sweet as can be. After running some erands today I thought I would give him some tummy time on his floor toy. Here are a few photos that he was kind enough to pose for both on his floor toy and in the back bedroom. Yes, you can expect to get a copy of these photos soon. IF you want a specific one..Let me know. I can always burn a disc of them or send you a large photo file by e-mail and you can print your own.

Dalai stands guard so Charlie can sleep safely

Waking up a little he asked for his "nuk"

Charlie loves the peek-a-boo game now!

Yep that's one happy boy!

Finally we are getting around to posting some new photos of our brilliantly cute boy!!!
Charlie is now eight weeks old and is already weighing in at 14.5 pounds. Some of his 3-6 month outfits are already a bit snug but the 6 month stuff is still a bit big. These are all head shots so it is hard to tell how big he is but if it weren't for his bobble head and his inability to sit up one would think that he was four or five months old.
However, with a big body comes a big stomach - yeah!!! Charlie slept for almost six hours straight the other night. I think that it will be awhile before this happens regularly but it is a great relief to know that he is already well on his way to sleeping through the night. We are VERY lucky.
Generally Charlie is still an extremely happy kid. He has had a few 'colicky' evenings this week. But, since he is an absolute angel 95% of the time he can have a bit of a meltdown now and again - we don't mind.
I have to keep this post short as there are many holiday gifts to be finished, wrapped and mailed but, enjoy the pictures.
Charlie sends his love!!!
